Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

Did you ever find yourself in need for sweets and you had absolutely zero ideas on what do you want to make? Usually we don’t have a lot of time on our hands and we search for treat that are easy and fast to make. Because of this, we found a perfect treat recipe that you should give a try during the weekend . We have delicious Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Waffles prepared for you today with full list of ingredients and step by step recipe down on the page. Let’s start:

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Waffles Recipe

Yield: 4 waffles

for the waffles
dry ingredients
    • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
    • 1/3 cup cacao or cocoa powder
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
wet ingredients
    • 1 cup almond milk (or other nondairy milk)
    • 2/3 cup plain coconut milk yogurt
    • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
    • 50-60 drops of NuNaturals Pure Liquid Lo Han Supreme Sweetener ( or 3 tablespoons coconut sugar)
    • vegan oil spray (for spraying the waffle iron)
for the whipped cream
    • 1 can of coconut milk, refrigerated overnight
    • 1/4 teaspoon NuNaturals LoSweet Pure Extract Sweetener (or 1 teaspoon powdered sugar/xylitol)
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
for the shortcake
    • 3 cups hulled and quartered strawberries
    • cacao nibs for sprinkling (optional)
for the syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1-2 tablespoons cacao or cocoa powder

  1. Preheat waffle maker according to machine instructions.
  2. Make the waffle batter. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients. In a small bowl, mix together the wet ingredients. Add the wet ingredients to the dry, combine and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. While the batter is resting, make your whipped cream. I followed Angela’s instructions, though I used 1/4 teaspoon of LoSweet Pure Extract. Freezing the bowl prior is key, though. Just follow Angela’s instructions.
  4. Once your whipped cream is made, your strawberries prepared, and your batter has rested, begin making your waffles. Make your waffles using your machine’s instructions, making sure to spray the waffle iron with a little oil in between each waffle.
  5. Once the waffles are made, you can serve them one of three ways: 1.) Top one waffle with whipped cream and strawberries, top with cacao nibs and serve; 2.) Top one waffle with whipped cream and strawberries, then top with another waffle and repeat. Slice as you would a cake and serve; 3.) Cut a waffle into quarters. Top one quarter with coconut cream and strawberries, top with another quarter, repeat and serve. Repeat with the other two quarters. You can serve it as is, or top with some of the chocolate maple syrup, but we thought it was fine without it. Enjoy!

Wine Cellar in Würzburg, Germany

The Wuerzburg Residence is considered to be one of the three most beautiful castles all over Europe (besides Schoenbrunn / Wien and Versailles). Some even say, it’s the most beautiful of all of them because it’s a little more compact, and has a more harmonic and romantic architecture than the other two.

When looking at the map or the history, it’s just a remote place with a sequence of catholic prince bishops that did not have much political power but fertile land around. Mild climate, basically no involvement in wars (prince bishops didn’t fight for their successors), so pretty much money was left for this building. Since they were pressed to service, the people of those years may not have liked to construct it, but now it’s their heritage.
The must see are: the staircase with the biggest ceiling fresco all over the world (!), the emperor’s hall, the mirror cabinett (only on guided tours) and the green gamblers room. Please don’t just look at the decorations on the ceilings and the walls, pay attention to the marquetry on the parquet floors, too.

The rear hall is showing a retrospective of the destruction and the re-building of the Residence and the town after the attack of the RAF on the night of 16 March 1945 when their bombs killed more than 5000 people, mostly children, women, seniors.

The best time to visit this place is either in winter (cold!) when there are little visitors, so that you can enjoy it a lot for yourself, or during spring, when all the flowers are blooming. And the perfect time for the garden around it are the two Saturday evenings in June, when there are the Garden Concerts (Eine kleine Nachtmusik). But in January on a sunny day with snow, it has a special beauty. Another attraction is the wine cellar below the place in front of the castle. It can be accessed through the wine shop (when looking to the front of the castle its to the left across the street). There is a lot more to see in this small town (1300 year old city, fortress, churches, old university) where the X-rays were discovered, too.

Tasting Table at the Hall Winery in St. Helena

The table is made of a poplar tree, cut down and split length-wise. The bark on the outside is the original bark. The wood portion is actually a painted veneer. This prevents red wine from staining the table during parties.

Via the winery: A moment of reflection under the shaded terrace is all it takes for you to know why we feel so privileged to be a part of this exceptional Napa Valley vineyard. The manicured vineyards surround our oasis, shelter it from the crowds, and give voice to this historic estate. A step forward here is a step back in time, and pace. Some of the first settlers in the valley chose this location for its pastoral beauty and the richness of its soils, perfect for raising crops and families. The ambition of Saint Helena Winery is to balance the bounty of our vineyards with the unyielding focus of our winemaking team into a harmonious expression of our terroir in every bottle. We are privileged to take part in a moment with you and your friends, and we invite you to relax and savor our estate wines while contemplating the beauty that surrounds you.

It All Starts with a Bowl of Cereal and Milk

It’s hard to get what you need out of a delicious breakfast. You don’t want something yummy, but also bad for you, which can cause grogginess and unsatisfied hunger. At the same time, you want something nutritious, but not plain and flavorless. Kellogg’s, one of the world’s prominent cereal brands has joined forces with famous health practitioner, Dr. Travis Stork. “It’s not just whether you eat it, but what you eat, and having protein with whole grains during breakfast is a great option. Protein is an essential building block for the body and whole grains provide energy,” explained Dr. Stork.

The beginning of a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be plain or unsatisfying. Stork helps families recharge, rebuild and refuel with a bowl of cereal and milk. A bowl of Kellogg’s brand cereal with a cup of skim milk provides essential vitamins and minerals needed to help you keep going throughout the day. Protein helps retain and even gain more lean muscle mass while whole grains can refuel the body. Throughout 2014, Dr. Stork will help educating families with Kellogg’s about how eating a delicious and nutritious breakfast in the morning can be beneficial to the mind and body.
