Food Network does it again with a brand new competitive cooking show with a familiar face. Food Network Guy’s Grocery Games, starting Sunday, October 20th at 8pm ET/PT. The show takes place inside a grocery store, four talented chefs compete against each other through three cooking challenges, as they must navigate their way through the aisles adhering to a number of “real-world” culinary challenges to create yummy meals. The chefs must focus on improvisation, competitiveness, and culinary skills for a chance to win up to $20,000.
During the season premiere, the chefs will face extraordinary cooking feats. In their first challenge, the chefs make their best version of spaghetti and meatballs. They soon learn that the key ingredients are not in stock. The chefs must make replacements and improvise in a mad dash grabbing alternatives from around the market. Then, in budget battle, the chefs use their supermarket savvy and couponing genius to make a family meal for four with just $6.35. For the final challenge, the two remaining chefs make their best dishes using only ingredients from the frozen food aisle. The winner gets the chance to go on the Super Shopping Spree worth up to $20,000.
